Introduction of the Honored Guest:
I was born on May 15, 1942, in Xiaoshan County, Zhejiang Province.
In my senior year of high school, I came to know the Church when missionaries came to my school to teach English. Under the teaching of Elders Lore Baxter and Monte Carlson, I was baptized on November 10, 1962. Shortly after my baptism, my younger sister Yi Hui was also baptized.
In August of the following year, I was called to serve in the Southern Far East Mission (Tainan, Taichung, and Taipei) for one and a half years (from August 1963 to April 1965).
While serving in Tainan, my parents and younger sister Yi Zhen and brother Ziqing were also baptized. My father, Shen Honghao, served twice as the Keelung Branch President and was also the first bishop. My mother, Shen Dai Shuguang, served multiple times as Relief Society President.
After returning home, I continued to serve in various callings in both branch and ward. After the dedication of the Taipei Temple in 1984, I was called to serve as a temple worker until 2014 when I went to the United States to accompany my mother.
I know that Heavenly Father uses many different ways to help us grow. As long as we obey God’s commandments, we will surely return to His presence!
I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God’s church! Heavenly Father loves us! Jesus is our Redeemer! President Dallin H. Oaks is a modern-day prophet, seer, and revelator!

Name: Sister Huang Ping

Introduction of the Honored Guest:
Sister Huang Ping (affectionately known as “Mama Shang”) and Brother Shang Zhenshan raised four children, ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Born in 1938 (Year 27 of the Republic of China) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, she was adopted by the Yang family. Growing up during wartime, life was challenging. Daily responsibilities in housework and farm labor helped her develop many skills, talents, and a resilient character. At age ten, she moved to Taipei with her adoptive parents.
As an adult, she worked in a textile factory, where she met Brother Shang Zhenshan, a former military officer then working at a radio station. They got married when she was 21 and became parents to two sons and two daughters. Together they worked hard to raise their children, creating a lively and warm home.
In 2000, influenced by the family of her eldest son, Brother Shang Wen, she was baptized and joined the Church. Her faith became a source of strength in her life. In 2014, she and her late husband were sealed as eternal companions in the Taipei Taiwan Temple. She once shared, “That night after the sealing, I dreamed of him wearing his military uniform, saluting me, and smiling as he said thank you.”
In recent years, she has enjoyed taking various courses, including Chinese herbal medicine, acupressure, handmade soap, watercolor painting, and weaving. She loves life and gladly shares what she learns. She is grateful to her daughter-in-law, Sister Yao Jing-wen, for helping her come into the Church, and she is also thankful for the love and care shown by her Church friends—especially the members of the Beitou Ward. To learn and grow together with her brothers and sisters is a beautiful blessing.

Name: Ji Chun-Xiu

Introduction of the Honored Guest:
Sister Ji Chun-Xiu was born in 1944 in Magong, Penghu. When
her children were young, a friend introduced her family to the
Baptist Church in the Minsheng Community, where they were
baptized and attended that church . Although they left a few years
later due to various circumstances, the warmth she experienced
there planted a seed of faith in her heart.
In 2018, at age 74, after many years of gentle guidance and hope
from her eldest daughter, that seed finally blossomed. What began
as a desire for her grandson to learn the gospel turned into a
miracle—Sister Ji herself was baptized again and joined the big
family-Yonghe Ward.
Because her early life was marked by poverty, she, as the eldest
daughter, had to leave school to work and help support the family.
This became one of her greatest regrets. After getting married,
with the support of her late husband and two children, she returned
to school to continue her education. She had experienced the
consequences of limited education—lacking the knowledge to
discern the right path, she stumbled through life and encountered
hardship and regret.
It was precisely because she had lost so much that she deeply
cherishes the chance to return to the “fold of sheep” and learn
anew. She said that the gospel messages taught by the
missionaries were like a lighthouse, illuminating her life’s direction
once more; in an instant, all loneliness, sorrow, and regret seemed
to melt away.
The gospel has brought her knowledge and renewed opportunities
to learn, broadened her perspective, and strengthened her
confidence—blessings she values dearly. Now 82 years old, she
strives to attend Sabbath meetings, serves others through cooking,
and feels closer to the Lord through temple worship.
She says:
“It is never too late to come back! A Christ-centered life of
faith brings peace and steadiness. I am no longer alone. Life
will always have trials, but the gospel brings knowledge,
changes the way we think, increases our ability to discern and
avoid darkness, guides us toward the right path, and
transforms our lives.” She expresses deep gratitude for the
Savior’s atoning sacrifice and for Heavenly Father’s continual
blessings.
