Create Your Own Shoulder Bag

Sister Tseng Yu-yun was baptized in 2016, at the age of 21. During that year, she loved joining other newly baptized members to accompany the missionaries in their work. The elders rode bicycles while they rode scooters. When the missionaries talked with people at traffic lights, they joined in and they knocked on doors and attended lessons together. Participating in missionary work brought her great joy and planted in her heart the desire that “one day, I want to serve as a missionary couple with my husband.”

She currently serves as a Primary teacher and is also a mother of three children. She shares that this calling reminds her to continually teach her children the gospel, to speak with kindness, to recognize their potential, and to encourage them to bear testimony. Throughout this year of teaching, she has felt joy, growth, and a deep sense of Heavenly Father’s love.

Sewing has become one of her favorite hobbies. When she creates, she often loses track of time and forgets her worries. When a piece is finished, the sense of accomplishment fills her heart with the thought: “I really can do it!” This creative process gives her strength, and she treasures that feeling deeply.Course Overview

Using needle, thread, and fabric, participants will handcraft their own shoulder bag — a piece that carries personal memories and creativity. Through the act of making, they can reconnect with their inner selves, gain self-assurance, and rediscover their own light.

• Duration: Approximately 40–45 minutes
• The course will combine handouts with verbal instruction.

The handouts include step-by-step sewing procedures and illustrated diagrams, allowing participants to follow along easily and understand each stage of the process without interruption.

To increase completion success, a material kit will be provided. Each kit is pre-cut and packaged (fabric patterns are randomly assigned and cannot be chosen).

Participants who wish to use their own fabric may request a measurement chart from the instructor, pre-cut the fabric at home, and bring it to class for assembly assistance.

Material Kit Includes:

Pre-sewn outer fabric, lining fabric, and strap

Participants simply sew these three components together to complete their personal shoulder bag.
