Elder Ming-Zu Wang was called to serve as an Asia Area Seventy at the April 2022 General Conference and is a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy. As this occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, Elder Benjamin M.Z. Tai, Asia Area President, traveled especially to Taiwan to perform the ordination by the laying on of hands and assigned Elder Wang to coordinate matters within the Taichung Mission. In August 2024, Elder Wang was reassigned to coordinate matters within the Taipei Mission, which responsibility he continues to hold.

Both Elder Wang and Sister Shiao-Tsen Yin Wang grew up in Taipei. Because their mothers were colleagues, the two families had known each other since their childhood, which eventually led to Elder Wang and Sister Wang’s marriage at the end of 1992. At that time, Sister Wang had been a member of the Church for three years. Through her good example, guidance, and companionship, Elder Wang was baptized into the Church in early 1995 in California, USA. Soon thereafter, Elder Wang accepted a teaching position at Kaohsiung Normal University. In the summer of 1995, the family returned to Taiwan and settled in Kaohsiung, where Elder Wang was also called to serve as a counselor in a bishopric. In 1997, he was invited to join the High Energy Experimental Physics Group of the Department of Physics at National Taiwan University, participating in an international experiment at the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) in Japan, involving the design, fabrication, assembly, calibration, and operation of a pre-posed calorimeter. During this time, the family moved back to Taipei. Elder Wang has since taught in the Department of Physics at National Taiwan University for nearly thirty years.

In Church service, Elder Wang has served as second counselor in a bishopric, first counselor in a bishopric, bishop, high councilor, second counselor in a stake presidency, first counselor in a stake presidency, and stake president.

Sister Wang’s professional expertise is in clinical nutrition. She earned a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from the New York Institute of Technology. She serves full-time as a homemaker, not only preparing delicious daily meals for the family, but also serving as the primary source of spiritual nourishment in the home. She is deeply devoted to raising the next generation, providing attentive companionship as well as appropriate correction and instruction. Especially as the children grow older, Sister Wang consistently prepares in advance, makes thoughtful adjustments, and offers guidance suited to each child’s needs and stage of development.

The second generation of the Wang family includes three sons, all of whom have completed their education, served missions, and been married in the temple. They are currently working and pursuing further studies overseas. The third generation includes two lovely young granddaughters.

Elder and Sister Wang testify that they feel greatly blessed to learn and grow in the gospel, and they know that only by living according to the gospel can one receive the blessings promised by God.
