Taichung Daya Chapel-Impromptu Choir

Impromptu Choir Conductor

Lin, Jia Xuan

Sister Lin Jia-Xuan’s mother met the missionaries and was baptized when she was three years old. Sister Lin herself was baptized at the age of eight and has served in the Church as a pianist and choir member for a long time.

She graduated from the Department of Music at National Kaohsiung Normal University, with a major in piano and a minor in viola. She met Brother Tsai Zong-Han while in university, and after graduation, they were sealed in the Taipei Taiwan Temple. After completing her internship, she obtained her secondary school music teaching certificate. Being passionate about music education, Sister Lin has continuously worked as a private music tutor. Following the birth of her children, she also served as a full-time music and sensory therapy teacher for the elderly and later as a junior high school music and performing arts teacher. She and her husband have three children.

In the Church, Sister Lin has served in various callings, including Ward and Stake music coordinators, Primary teacher, and counselor in the Young Women presidency.

Impromptu Choir Pianist

Gu, Ya Ting

Baptized in February 2006, sister Gu was invited to serve as a pianist as soon as she joined the Church. She currently works as an administrative accountant and serves in the Church as second counselor in the Relief Society presidency and the Institute teacher.

She began learning to play the piano around second grade in elementary school and continued until her first year of junior high. During that time, she passed the Yamaha Level 6 Piano Examination. Later, due to increasing academic demands, she stopped formal training but would occasionally play the piano to relieve stress.

After graduating from college, she decided—almost by chance—to set a goal to pass the Level 5 Piano Examination, so she picked up the sheet music again and, after two attempts, finally passed!

She is very grateful for the opportunity to serve the choir, as it allows her to use her talents and contribute through music.
